Engineering school founded in 1969 is the predecessor of Civil Engineering and Architecture school, of which the architectural engineering discipline enrolled students since 1986 formally. According to the needs of subject construction and professional development of the university, Civil Engineering and Architecture school was established on the basis of the original related disciplines in July 2005. The school now has five undergraduate majors of civil engineering, built environment and energy engineering, project management, architecture and engineering cost, more than 1800 full-time students.

Civil Engineering and Architecture school has a team of vibrant and energetic teachers. The existing staff of 61 people, the full-time teachers of 51 people, including professors of 4 people, associate professors of 16 people, doctors of 18 people, PhD candidates of 7 people, teachers who have doctor's degree and master's degree account for 85.42 percent of the total number of teachers. The school has six teaching and research section, which are mechanics, architectural structure, building materials and construction, architectural design, built environment and energy application engineering and engineering management. The school possess five comprehensive laboratories of mechanics, civil engineering, built environment and energy application engineering, architecture and modern engineering management simulation, the total assets of instruments and equipment achieve more than 10 million Yuan. The school also has the institute of architectural design and testing and the institute of building energy efficiency and building materials.

The school pays high attention to scientific research and academic research, which gets remarkable achievements in teaching and scientific research. In recent years, more than 10 monographs and textbooks were published and over 400 papers have been published on the domestic and overseas journals, of which 50 papers were included in EI and SCI, more than 10 national and provincial scientific research achievements were obtained, over 10 national invention patents were achieved.
