From September 14th to 19th, Song Xiyun, president of Qingdao Agricultural University(QAU), led a delegation to visit Murdoch University in Australia and Massey University in New Zealand, and yielded fruitful results.
During the visit to Murdoch University, firstly,the delegation attended the Australian aboriginal welcome ceremony organized by the school, and met with the school's leadership, the Chinese Consul General in Perth, Ms. Dong Zhihua, and the President of the Western Australian Shandong Association, David Duan. Subsequently, Song Xiyun and the school's vice president of research and innovation David Morrison, the vice president of international affairs Lyn Karstadt, a number of academic leaders and 16 experts and professors from our school participated in the "China-Australia Joint Research Institute of Agriculture and Environmental Health". At the opening ceremony of the first academic forum, the two sides signed the "Letter of Intent for Cooperation Plan of Qingdao Agricultural University-Mordock University Masters Project". So far, QAU and Murdoch University have established a comprehensive system of successive postgraduate and doctoral programs of study, and built a platform for more students to go to the university to study master's and doctor's degrees.
During the visit to Massey University, the delegation had a friendly exchange with Jan Thomas, the president of Massey University. Song Xiyun gave a detailed introduction to the specific situation of the joint research institutes and joint doctoral training programs of many foreign universities and colleges, and expressed his intention to strengthen cooperation and exchange with Massey University. Jan Thomas said that she is willing to cooperate and exchange with the university to learn from each other and make progress together.
