Recently, Dubai-based Darley Group has announced that a brand-new scholarship program named Dubai Equine Science Scholarships (DESS) is launched in order to encourage more students to study Equine Science . Qingdao Agricultural University(QAU) has become one of the first seven universities to set up DESS within the country.

DESS is awarded to the excellent students from these seven universities who are interested in furthering their equine studies. The scholarship will be granted to 24 recipients selected annually with each being awarded RMB 15,000 to cover their tuition and living fees from the year of 2015. In addition, seven of the 24 Dubai Equine Science Scholarship recipients (one from each university) will have the chance to win a trip to one of Darley’s world-famous thoroughbred stud farms and personally experience the thoroughbred breeding industry. This will possibly lay a firm foundation for the graduates to apply for Darley’s Dubai International Thoroughbred Internships (DITI) program in the future.
