From May 5th to 6th, the “Inspur Cup” hosted by Shandong Computer Society was held in Shandong University of Finance and Economics, and more than 260 teams from more than 30 colleges and universities across the province participated in the competition, such as Shandong University, Ocean University of China, China University of Petroleum (East China), etc. The five teams of the School of Science and Information Science of Qingdao Agricultural University(QAU) participated in the competition under the guidance of the instructor Wang Jing. After five consecutive hours of intense competition, they won a silver, three bronze and four medals. This is the first time the school is here. The silver medal at the event represents a higher level of student programming skills at Qingdao Agricultural University.

The full name of ACM(Association for Computing Machinery) is ACM-ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest), which is organized by the American Computer Society (ACM) to showcase the innovative ability, team spirit. It also shows how university students write procedures, and the abilities of analysing and solving problems under pressure.The annual competition is recognized as the largest and highest level computer competition for college students in the world. Chinese universities have participated in the ACM/ICPC Asia competition since 1996. The ACM/ICPC Asian Regional Qualifiers in five competitions held in mainland China each year have become the most extensive and influential competition for computer science disciplines in China. The Shandong ACM College Student Programming Competition has been held for the nine years. The scale of the competition is getting bigger and bigger, and the level of competition is constantly improving. It has formed a wide influence in the universities of Shandong Province. In the course of this competition, the team members of CITIC College have a reasonable division of labor and tacit cooperation, carefully analyze the problems, carefully select the algorithm, complete the programming, and continuously debug and optimize. The team is not afraid of strong players, and is brave enough to fight for honor for the college and the school again. 

In order to do a good job in this competition, the school's Academic Affairs Office and the College have given great attention and strong support. The instructor used the holidays to give serious guidance to the participating players, and organized the network simulation game before the competition to further enhance the tacit cooperation between the players and carefully prepared for the competition. The School of Science and Technology actively responded to the state's proposed teaching innovation and reform measures for computer, software and electronics in higher education institutions, encouraged students to participate in professional competitions, improved students' practical ability, and comprehensively improved the professional education level.
