Recently, Qingdao Agricultural University (QAU) and Ulsan University of South Korea formally signed a cooperation agreement on the program of joint training of doctoral students. The two sides agreed on the principles of mutual trust, mutual benefit and mutual profit, and were committed to giving full play to their respective resource advantages to jointly carry out this program and promoting the internationalization of talent training to  cultivate sinior talents with international vision, ability to adapt to international forward-looking academic research and technological innovation, and capability to help the construction of high-level applied disciplines in school.

The Ph.D. students who participate in the joint training program will be guided by tutors from both QAU and Ulsan University to complete the course study and dissertation. If the student publishes 2 SCI papers during his studies, he will be eligible for free tuition fees. Otherwise, he will be required to pay the tuition fees in accordance with the regulations of Ulsan University. If the student completes his studies in accordance with relevant requirements and management regulations, Ulsan University will award a doctoral degree to him based on his training plans and graduation requirements.

Ulsan University, located in Ulsan Metropolitan City on the southeast coast of South Korea, is a well-known comprehensive university in South Korea, and has 11 institutes (departments), 58 undergraduate programs and 6 research institutes. The subject areas cover humanities and society, economy and management, natural sciences, life sciences, engineering sciences, design and architecture, music, fine arts, medicine, etc. In the 2018-2019 British Times Higher Education "The Times and Sunday Times good university guide league table 2018-2019", Ulsan University ranked 68th in the comprehensive evaluation of universities in Asia, and 11th in the comprehensive evaluation of universities in Korea. In the 2018 Shanghai Jiaotong University World University Rankings, Ulsan University ranked 417th.
