Shandong Provincial Scientific Award conference was held in Jinan on January 22nd, aiming at honoring the scientific researchers who contributed to science and technology innovation and modernization in Shandong province. Three projects taken charge by Qingdao Agricultural University have been awarded the first-class and second-class Shandong Provincial Scientific Advancement Award and the third-class Provincial Award for Natural Science.

“The Key Techniques and Equipment of Peanut’s Machinery Seeder & Harvester”, led by Professor Shang Shuqi of QAU was awarded the first-class Shandong Provincial Scientific Advancement Award. This achievement set up the key techniques of peanut’s seeder and harvester according to the regional planting mode and edaphic condition, proposed the instruction of mechanized manufacturing technology and advocated the specific mechanized equipment of this technological system. Also, it developed, promoted, and applied the 18 types of machines possessing independent intellectual property, achieving seeder and harvester’s mechanization. All those machinery equipments had undergone national or provincial tests and all the levels of work performance had been proved, compared with congeneric products. Among those machines, seven of them ranked national agricultural machinery product catalog and eight of them edged themselves into provincial machinery products, making themselves the main machinery types of Chinese peanut production areas.

Respectively, “The Key Technology of Foie Gras Production and Quality Control” led by Professor Wang Baowei won the second-class Shandong Provincial Scientific Advancement Award and “Regulatory Mechanism of Stomatal Movement in Plant’s Environmental Responses” advocated by Professor Liu Xin won the third-class Provincial Award for Natural Science.
