On July 17th, East Asian City of Culture——the launching ceremony of China, Japan and South Korea Animation Design Competition and the award ceremony of the ‘C9 Cup’ Qingdao-wide College Students Animation Design Competition was held in QAU(Qingdao Agricultural University).

Song Xiyun, president of QAU, presented an overal introduction of the university as well as the school-running thought of the School of Animation and Media to combine production, study, research and application together. Tooyama Shige, Consul General of Japan’s Consulate-General in Qingdao, made a speech and wishes that this competition would further push the friendly people-to people exchange among the three countries.

‘East Asian City of Culture’ is a cultural activity developed to implement the significant consencus reached by the leaders of China, Japan and South Korea at the 5th Chin-Japan-South Korea trilateral summit, and the pracitce the ‘ Action Plan of Shanghai’ signed at the China-Japan-South Korea Culture Minister Meeting held in May, 2012, which is an important measure of the Ministry of Culture to further enhance international cultural exchange and cooperation and promote the friendship between China and the neighboring countries.

The award event for the ‘C9 Cup’ Qingdao-wide College Students Animation Design Competition was held on the spot.
