From July 26th to 28th, the Delegation of QAU(Qingdao Agricultural University) participate in the 8th term Agricultural and Biological Technology Seminar jointly held by QAU and SNU (Seoul National University), and visited the Rural Development Administration of South Korea.

On July 27th, the 8th term Agricultural and Biological Technology Seminar was held at SNU, Korea. Prof. Yang Tongyi, vice-president of QAU, addressed the conference at the opening ceremony. He pointed out, China possesses abundant agricultural natural resources and huge market demand of agricultural products, while South Korea has advanced agriculture production technology and strong abilities to explore the international market. Therefore, China and South Korea complement each other's advantages in the agricultural and food industry development, which provides wide space for the agricultural and food cooperation of both sides. He hopes that, both universities will grasp the opportunity that the food industry and agricultural trade is witnessing a rapid development, conduct exchanges, enhance cooperation, and make more contributions to the development in the field of the food and agricultural economy of China and South Korea.

During the seminar, Yang Tongyi and the QAU delegation visited the central laboratory and other relevant labs of SNU, and held talks with Jin Zhenghan, director of Teaching Affairs Office of SNU, and Prof. An Junlong as well as other relevant teachers of the University’s College Agriculture & Life Sciences.

On the 28th, Yang was invited to visit the Rural Development Administration of South Korea, and held talks with Luo Shenglong, deputy director-general of the Rural Development Administration, and Huang Zhenghuan, director of Bureau of International Cooperation. Both sides indicated that, both parities will further enhance cooperation in the fields of information and personnel exchanges, project cooperation etc on the basis of what both sides have already done, tackle key scientific research projects and push the exchange and cooperation between both sides to a higher level.

After the talk, the QAU delegation led by Yang Tongyi visited the Academy of Agricultural Science, Horticultural Science Institute, Exhibition Hall, Specimen Bank of the Rural Development Administration and the field experiment zone in Quanzhou area.
