On the afternoon of September 25th, 2020, Mamadou N'diaye, Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to China, and Amadou N'diaye, the Chief Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Senegal in China paid a visit to Qingdao Agriculture University (QAU). Song Xiyun, president of QAU, and Yuan Yongbing, vice-president of QAU, met with the two visitors.

Song Xiyun extended a warm welcome to the delegation of the ambassador. He pointed out that China's President Xi Jinping and President Salle of Senegal have jointly witnessed the signing of   a number of bilateral cooperation documents including the " The Belt and Road " initiative. Over the years, QAU has been positively responding to the national strategy of "The Belt and Road", actively giving full play to her professional advantages in agricultural science, agricultural machinery research and development, food science and other characteristic fields, and strengthening international exchanges and cooperation with Senegalese government, universities and scientific research institutions, which has made positive contributions to the common prosperity and development of the two countries.

Yuan Yongbing introduced the basic situation of QAU from the aspects of the development history, discipline construction, scientific and technological innovation, social service and International cooperation under “The Belt and Road” initiative, and expressed the desire to establish a close cooperative relationship with the counterparts of Republic of Senegal. Experts and professors from School of Agriculture, School of Mechatronic Engineering and School of Food Science and Engineering of QAU have introduced the scientific research achievements of QAU in various links of peanut industry chain in the aspects of peanut breeding, peanut mechanization equipment and peanut deep processing respectively, and put forward opinions and suggestions for future international cooperation in this field.

After the meeting, on behalf of QAU, Song Xiyun presented the flag with QAU's logo to Ambassador MamadouN'diaye. Yuan Yongbing accompanied the delegation led by the ambassador to visit the Agricultural Machinery Exhibition Hall of School of Mechatronic Engineering.
