A delegation of over thirty led by Zheng Deqiao, president of Korean Gangwon-do Federation of Agricultural Operators visited QAU and held discussions with teachers from the School of Cooperatives on June 9th, 2015. Both parties carried on an in-depth exchange centered around the issues such as the situation of Korean Federation of Agricultural Operators, the development of cooperatives in China, the changes of China’s agricultural policy etc..

During the symposium, Li Zhonghua, dean of School of Cooperatives of QAU, gave a brief overview of QAU as well as the development history and current conditions of the School of Cooperatives, reviewed the exchange and cooperation between the college and various universities of South Korea, and expressed sincere wishes to push further the exchange and cooperation between both sides.

Zheng Deqiao gave an introduction of the conditions of Korean Gangwon-do Federation of Agricultural Operators. He wished to interact with China’s agricultural operators and strengthen the cooperation in the field of agricultural production and circulation.

Prof. Li Mingquan from the School of Economics and Management of QAU was invited to give a report titled The Impact of China-Korea FTA upon Korean Agriculture and the Feasibility Analysis on the Export of Korean Agricultural Products to China.

This visit of the Korean delegation to Qingdao lasted two days with the purpose of learning the impact of China-Korea FTA upon China, the new changes of China’s agricultural policy as well as the new development trend of the agricultural operation in Shandong province. In addition to QAU, the Korean delegation also carried on an on-the-spot investigation of the Chengyang-based Qingdao agricultural products wholesale market, pickles processing factory and gardening cooperatives as well.
