I.  About us

Qingdao Agricultural University (QAU), formerly known as Laiyang Agricultural University, is a regular provincial higher education institute among the first universities conferring bachelor degrees under the authority of the State Council. QAU was established in 1951, and has developed herself into a distinctive and multi-disciplinary university of well-coordinated sciences, engineering, agriculture, economics, humanities, and management.

QAU is located in Qingdao, covering an area of 200 hectares. There are 1,119 professional teachers among whom 124 are professors, 261 associate professors, and 213 have doctor degrees, 592 have master degrees. She has 21 colleges, 51 undergraduate programs, and 31 post-graduate programs. There are 9 provincial key disciplines, key laboratories, and engineering technology centers. Owning a collection of 1588,000 volumes of books and a gross worth of 140 million yuan’s equipments, QAU has excellent conditions of research and library, and takes on a great number of research projects from the state or provincial government and enterprises.

QAU is constantly strengthening exchange and cooperation with foreign institutes, and has established relations of academic and personnel exchanges and cooperation with more than 78 higher education institutes in more than 20 countries like the USA, Italy, South Korea, Japan, the Netherlands and so on.

     QAU is located in the beautiful and pleasant city--Qingdao, with excellent environment, advanced facilities and rich study and cultural environment. The campuses are equipped with complete sports facilities, such as basketball yards, volleyball yards, football fields, table tennis rooms, standardized stadiums and playgrounds, etc..

    Dormitory apartments for International Students provide both single-bed rooms and double-bed rooms, which are equipped with broadband internet facilities, in-house bathing rooms, showers, heats,  air-conditions,TV sets, basic furniture, quilts , bed-clothes and public laundry rooms.

V. Costs

l  Students have to take care of expenses of foods, textbooks, medication, insurances, etc.

l  The above-mentioned fees are to be paid in RMB or US Dollars in cash under the officially declared conversion rate by the Bank of China on the payday. Fees are to be submitted on the required day of QAU, and fees cannot be refunded unless it is due to the school’s defaults.

VI. Application Process

2)      Degree students should also submit photocopies of their highest degree certificates, school score sheets and HSK score sheets.

3.      When to Apply

Chinese Language learners could apply any time. Winter/Summer Tourism and Cultural camp students should apply one month in advance, and the total expenses are subject to real needs.

4.      Enrollment and Visa

1)      Fill in Application Form for International Students Desiring to Study in Qingdao Agricultural University according to requirements, and send it together with registration fee and other proofing materials to the International Office of our university.

2)      Within one month after we received the application form, if all requirements are meet, the Notice of Admission and one form of Visa Application for Study in China(JW202) would be send out. Applicants who are admitted could go to the Embassy or consulate of China to apply an “X” visa with the Admission Notice and the form of Visa Application for Study in China (JW202), and to go to a designated hospital to do a Physical examination according to the requirements of Physical Examination Records for Foreigners. We could help to extend “L” and “F” visas, but we could not transfer or extend Z visas.

5.      Registration.

Time of registration could be seen in the Admission Notice. We could provide picking-up service at the airport. When registering, we appreciate you:

   Hand-in your passport for verification;

   Hand-in the Admission Notice;

   Hand-in the Physical Examination Records for Foreigners;

   Hand-in four copies of 2 inches head-free photos, tuition, accommodation expenses and the other expenses.

  Those who could not register on time without an acceptable excuse would see their admission cancelled. If, for special reasons, you could not register on time, please contact us, and we will see whether we could postpone your registration.

Please Notice:

1)      All applicants must be healthy.

2)      All materials required must be both in Chinese and English.

3)      There is no refund of the registration fee, and it must be paid by either cash or a postal order,  no checks.
