On the morning of Sep. 20th, the Sino-America Veterinary Drug Research and Development Academic Meeting was held at QAU.

Prof. Yuan Yongbing, vice-president of QAU, pointed out, “QAU has long been committed to the research in the fields such as agricultural economy, environmental biotechnology etc, and has created high yield records of various crops such as Chinese corn, penut, wheat etc. The university has got research advantages in the areas of Veterinary Pharmaceutics, Veterinary Medicine, Aquaculture, Veterinarian, Feed and Animal Nutrition etc. ” Prof. Yuan wishes that the experts present would propose ideas and suggestions on the development of relevant major of the university and make joint and greater contributions for the development of the veterinary drug industry.

Merton Smith, director of Department of International Project and Product Standards, FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine, introduced the theme and meaning of this seminar, including American animal medician GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), the rights and standards of GMP inspections, and the implementation in America etc.

On Sep. 20th and the next morning, experts of the American delegation and Chinese experts delivered thematic reports respectively.
