On January 26th, hosted by Shandong Internet Media Group, the 2018 Shandong University New Media Operation and Management Seminar was held in Ji'nan. Song Quanzheng, deputy director of the Shandong Education Office and director of the News Center, and Chen Yuejun, deputy general manager of the public network of Shandong Internet Media Group attended the meeting and released two lists of “2017 University with Best Social Reputation of Shandong” and “The Most Influential Official WeChat Account of Shandong Universities in 2017”. Qingdao Agricultural University(QAU)  and the official Wechat Account of the school were on the list.

The list “2017 University with Best Social Reputation of Shandong” was collected by the Shandong Internet Media Group in the past year by its public opinion center, with the accordance of the university's positive information on newspapers, magazines, TV, online media, client-side, Microblog, WeChat and was based on reletive weights. In order to objectively and fairly reflect the achievements of the universities in terms of information disclosure, word-of-mouth construction and public opinion management, the list did not take the form of voting, evaluation, etc., but was based on the data collected by the public opinion center. The list is divided into three sub-lists of undergraduate, higher vocational and private colleges. A total of 67 universities have won honors.

The list “Most Influential Official WeChat of Shandong Universities in 2017” was calculated from the official WeChat account of each university in Shandong with a consecutive article-publishing for more than 6 months, and with the accordance of the total number of articles published in each month, the total number of reading, and the total number of likes, as well as the weighted average of the data such as the reading of the headline article. The list integrally reflects the dissemination, maturity and influence of the official-certificated WeChat of universities. It is divided into two sub-lists of undergraduate and higher vocational colleges, with the official WeChat of 44 universities listed.

At the meeting, the relevant person in charge of the provincial network media group also discussed with the representatives of universities on topics such as university's public opinion management and media management.
