Representatives from University of Ulsan, South Korea Visit QAU

On April 26, 2016, Nam ChangWoo, dean of School of International Exchange and Dr. Guo Zhen, director of Chinese affairs of South Korea’s University of Ulsan(UOU) visited QAU. Officials from International Office, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and School of Economics and Management met with the guests and held talks. Both sides exchanged views on the 2+2 English double degree program and the 3+2 top-up program.

The 2+2 English double degree program is intended for the students enrolled in 2014 of School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and School of Economics and Management. The students who have outstanding academic performance and good command of English are qualified to apply for the program in the 3rd and 4th year to study in UOU whose courses are all offered in English. Once their grades meet the requirements of graduation, they will acquire the graduation diploma of both universities and the degree of QAU.

The 3+2 top-up program is intended for the three-year college students of School of Internal Education of QAU. Should the graduates of QAU pass TOPIK III(Test of Proficiency In Korean ), they are qualified to apply for the program to study the courses for juniors and seniors in UOU. After graduation, if their academic results are up to the graduation requirements, they will acquire the graduation diploma of UOU for undergraduates.

Established by Hyundai Group, UOU is developing rapidly supported by sound capital foundation and its outstanding professors. It has one of the best engineering and business majors and the highest employment rate among Korean universities. Times Higher Education, a British higher education journal, issued in 2015 that UOU ranked the 90th among the universities founded in less than 50 years.

QAU signed the intercollegiate friendly agreement and the 2+2 English double degree program agreement with UOU in June, 2015, and in Sepember of the same year, 3 students from the logistic major of QAU went to UOU to study for a second degree of international business.
