College of Haidu

The College of Haidu at Qingdao Agricultural University has been approved by the Department of Education to be an independent college in 2005. Situated in Laiyang, it's campus covers over 33 hectares with a construction area of 100,000 m2. There are 340,000 books in the campus library. The total assets amount to 180 million yuan, including teaching equipments and apparatus worth of 13.60 million yuan. There are 18 bachelor's degree programs, 115 full-time teachers, and 2 foreign teachers in the college. The college was listed as one of the two best colleges in terms of the average value of equipment and apparatus per student, the average number of books per student, and the ratio of students to teachers according to the statistics from the investigation on the qualifications of running an educational organization executed by the Shandong provincial department of education in 2006.
Taking the advantages of various resources in Qingdao Agricultural University, Haidu College operates independently under its own educational principle and management style. The bachelor's degree programs and associate's degree programs will help the students cultivate their personality, enrich their knowledge, reinforce their practical abilities, improve their social adaptability and thus become advanced talents with innovative and pioneering ideas.
The college believes in the ideas of humanism and law. Our motto is "erudition, wisdom, action, benevolence". The college practices three guiding principles: providing homelike services, offering characteristic teaching programs, and training the candidates in respect of the needed workforce. The college divides a year into three academic terms. The tutorial system and credit system, combined with comprehensive yet flexible teaching programs, help the students acquire the desired knowledge and professional skills necessary to launch a successful new career or move to a higher level in a current job.
All the students can have the opportunity of integrated scholarships: 2000 yuan a year for the first award, 1000 yuan a year for the second award, and 600 yuan a year for the third award. In addition, there are special scholarships, grant-in-aid from enterprises, relief fund for temporary inconveniences. Students may also apply for education loans, part-work and part-study programs, one-to-one help or find other solutions to complete their studies here if they have some kind of financial problems.
