College of Food Science and Engineering
- The discipline of Food Science and Engineering was established in 1980. In accordance with the readjustment of disciplines, the department of Food Science and Engineering was founded in 1993, and renamed the College of Food Science and Engineering in 2005.
- At present there are 3 undergraduate programs in food science and engineering, biological engineering and food quality and safety. The college is accredited to offer 2 master degree programs in Agricultural Products Processing & Storage Engineering and Food Science. We also offer one characteristic specialty of Food Science and Engineering in Shandong province, one key laboratory of Modern Agriculture Quality and Safety Engineering in Qingdao and 3 college institues.
- The college has a staff of 66 members, including 9 professors and 14 associate professors. Most of the teaching staff are either doctor or master degree holders. It shows that their academic excellence and are beloved by the students.
- The college has undertaken various research projects, and has obtained outstanding achievements in theoretic and applied research as well as production and extension, including national programs, provincial important bid or key programs and so on. Besides, the amount of papers published in domestic and foreign scientific journals mount to over 400, in which 19 papers were published in SCI & EI journals.
- At present the college has established excellent co-operative relations with near 20 famous institutes of higher learning and scientific research institutes at home and abroad, including Department of Agriculture of Canada, Kagoshima University of Japan, Kaya University of South Korea, and Longda Group of China, etc. All these activities have undoubtedly stimulated the vigorous development of internationalized education and research in the college.
