College of Continuing Education

The College of Continuing education at Qingdao Agricultural University first started in 1958. The specialty for cadres was founded in 1982, teaching by correspondence was resumed in 1985,while evening school was founded in 1986. The college began specialized education with certificate in 1989, undergraduate courses from high school in 1993, spare time college education for Communist Party Shandong Brunch in 1994. Technical secondary school for adults was founded in 1997. In the same year, the school held CTC examination as well as business administration training. In 2000 the corresponding education for the transferred students form an associate to an undergraduate was given. Self-teaching exam was also given that year. In order to satisfy the need of the economic development, the school has been holding several specialized training and new technique training. The school has provided over 30,000 able persons in past 10 years, which contributes a lot to the social and economic development.
The Continuing Education Department was renamed the College of Continuous Education in 2003, the college consists of Office, Recruitment Office, Academic Administration, Continuing Education Department, Archives, Communist Youth League Brunch Office.
Now 12 crew are working in the college, 6 of whom with senior academic titles, 2 with medium academic titles. The college enjoys advanced facilities, computers connected to internet is available to everyone. With duplicating machine, TV set, video cassette recorder, typewriter, and car, the college has generally started modern administration.
Since 1999, the college has devoted to reform on continuing education, different means of education are tried and the structure of the majors is adjusted according to market economy. Now progress is obvious with enhancement of administration and improvement of teaching quality. There are 13 majors of corresponding education for transferred students from associate to undergraduate, 5 majors for high school students applying for bachelor degree, 23 specialties apart from 10 technical secondary specialties. Over 7,200 correspondent students are enrolled. Now the school has developed multi-formed, multi-layered, multi-standard structure with the stress on correspondent education.
Besides teaching, the College of Continuing Education also takes up scientific research. Over 80 academic essays have been published in domestic periodicals, 5 monographs have been published. 3 provincial academic research projects are taken, over 20 above provincial academic research awards are given, which helps advance the teaching administration.
